The Plot was started and completed in 1976 by the brother of the Mighty 9. Brother Paul Roberts of the Mighty 9 played an instrumental role in the design and completion of The Plot. 1993 was the first restoration of The Plot. A coat of high gloss paint was added along with a bolder KY, 1906 was added at the base of the shield, and the badly cracked sidewalk was replaced with a new.
The Smooth & Supreme Kappa Upsilon
“Bro. Daryl Williams President of the Delta Beta Chapter at the time, and Junior Ambassador to The Bahamas, met with our line the Friday before “Hell Week”. His message to us was, Alpha Phi Alpha and its standards should always be held in the highest regard. What makes us worthy of being a brother of the Greatest Fraternity on earth? Which one of us can measure up to Jesse Owens, Thurgood Marshall, or Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.? After our response(s), he asked if we had a line name. Our response was, The 3 Wise Men. He wanted to know what made us so wise, and then he asked, "What is your Chapter's Nickname? He knew we didn't have one because he used to visit often. Bro. Williams then said, "The Wise Men in the Bible brought gifts, what is your gift to the Chapter." He also asked us to put some thought into the nickname, several chapters had nicknames that were too edgy, and our Fraternity was already under a moratorium. We decided on a nickname that was regal and set us apart from every other chapter. The Smooth & Supreme Kappa Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated! Brothers, we are Royalty and always Ice Cold under pressure!!! 06'....”
